Fund raiser for Gemma April 24th 2007

Gemma Neary-Sambi from Longford Town came to the US nine years ago and has been working within the Irish Community in various capacities since then. For the past three years Gemma has been working as a bartender in Costello’s Four Deuces on Taraval Street.

In October 2006 Gemma became ill, and in December, she was ultimately diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. Gemma has been unable to work since this time. When radiation failed to reduce a developing tumor Gemma underwent extensive surgery. In January, Gemma spent several weeks in hospital where doctors subsequently removed a malignant tumor; she is now recovering at home.

Gemma is still under the treatment of a physician and will require medical attention for the foreseeable future.

The fund raiser will take place in Costello’s four deuces on April 14^th 207 @ 8.00pm, and entertainment will be provided.
